What cable are you using, The SU600 to Digium cards need a crossover
cable.

1 to 4
2 to 5
4 to 1
5 to 2

That would stop it from not working,

also make sure that you have a span definition on the zaptel.con file.

Each port is set to the proper signalling type (FXO,
FXS).  I can't find any other options for the
individual ports.
As for the timing and configuration of NI, I have
tried 
NI:
Timing Mode as both DTE and NI (my only choices)

Where else should I be checking?
(Before this morning, I hadn't even seen a channel
bank before, so I'm a little lost at the moment).
