[Asterisk-Users] I can't get a two way conversation going?

No... but I did something as equally stupid.

The firewall was on and blocking the ports.

Thanks, I figured it out :)

Leif.

This is going to sound like a stupid question but I am going to ask it
anyways. I have been a victim of my own stupidity on this one before. Ok
here goes... is the microphone muted?

I have tried both G711u and GSM codecs, and I get the same problem with
both. The asterisk computer is running a TD20B card with two phones
attached.  I call from my laptop with a microphone to the asterisk box.
Phone rings, I answer and the call doesn't drop.  I can talk into the
phone and hear myself on the laptop, but I am unable to get the sound
coming into the laptop on the microphone to be heard by the phone
attached to the asterisk box.
I am wondering what could be causing this lack of two way communication.

I am calling the asterisk box with xlite and FWD.
Any ideas of what I should be looking for?
Thanks,
BTW:  Neither are behind a NAT.  Both computers have external IP
addresses.  No firewalls enabled.
