Hi,
The point is that these Aastra Powertouch models have been modified (with an
acoustic shock filter) for the European market so that they conform to CE
regulations. The reason why these phones aren't available from Aastra in
Europe is because they are not allowed to sell them without the approval.
We will be getting CE-approved stock in next week. Anyone interested, please
email me.

Aastra makes them. I can sell you some if you'd like (contact me off
list) although you can find a number of resellers through Aastra
themselves (I feel we get better pricing though). If you're outside the
US, you probably want to find a local distributor, though.
Note, you have to make sure you get EXACTLY the right phone. They
require special codes to be programmed and only one set of codes is
available to Digium/Asterisk. Every PT480 is not the same (there are
literally dozens of codes you could end up with depending on how you ask
for the phone).
