[Asterisk-Users] Meetme conference capacity

I have a 1.8 GHz, 1 G RAM machine that I would like to use for
conferencing.  How many users have you all had on a box like that before?
I have a Digium quad T1 card in the box right now, so I could have up to 96
users on this system.  Has anyone ran into problems with degradation of
service as the number of users increased.  I haven't tested it out yet, but
would be interested to hear any limits that people have ran into.

Second question, a bit unrelated.  Can asterisk monitor a line that is on a
conference for dialed digits.  For example, I would like to be able to use
some code, like #6, that would allow a caller to mute him or herself.  This
would mute the line coming into the box as opposed to just the mike, so any
noise introduced on the line would also be blocked from the call.  Pressing
#6 again could unmute the line.  This probably actually is two questions.
Can asterisk block the transmit of a particular channel on T1, and can it
monitor for digits.
