You could use a cross over cable. I have tested this to bring up the Linkset and place calls across.

A cross over cable is the best Telco simulator you can get.

On Tue, Apr 26, 2011 at 6:27 PM, Marcelo Pacheco <marcelo@m2j.com.br> wrote:
because E1 cards are quite expensive, and before connecting to
PSTN, i would like to test good working of asterisk + libss7 by
looping back 2 E1 ports of the same PCI Card (for example : one
TE410P). I will connect two SIP phones for test purposes.
Do you think it is a good test ?
Could i define a little dialplan to test SIP to SS7 and SS7 to SIP
?
Thanks,
Use TDMoE. You can use it between two hosts with a good gigabit
switch or a 100Mbps crossover link (just my personal standard). It
can also be done using local TDMoE.
Google is your friend, there's plenty of Asterisk+TDMoE
documentation on the internet.
