[asterisk-ss7] Manipulate MWI with SS7

Is there a way using asterisk that we can manipulate a remote message waiting indicator via IS-41 messages over an SS7 link.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how this could be done with libss7 or if there is something else we might be able to use.
