Following config seems to be working ..
/etc/dahdi/system.conf
span=2,2,0,ccs,hdb3
bchan=32-46,48-62
mtp2=47
span=3,3,0,ccs,hdb3
bchan=63-77,79-93
#mtp2=78
span=4,4,0,ccs,hdb3
bchan=94-108,110-124
/etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.conf looks as follows
linkset=1
group=1
signalling=ss7
ss7type=itu
ss7_called_nai=dynamic
ss7_calling_nai=dynamic
pointcode=307
adjpointcode=7
defaultdpc=7
context=from-outside_c7
networkindicator=national_spare
cicbeginswith=1
channel => 32-46
cicbeginswith=17
channel => 48-62
cicbeginswith=32
channel => 63-77
cicbeginswith=48
channel => 79-93
cicbeginswith=63
channel => 94-108
cicbeginswith=79
channel => 110-124
sigchan = 47
When we restart Asterisk, the following message appears in the console
MTP2 link up (SLC 0)
--- SS7 Up ---
Resetting CICs 1 to 15
Resetting CICs 17 to 46
Resetting CICs 48 to 77
Resetting CICs 79 to 93
I was expecting as follows
Resetting CICs 1 to 15
Resetting CICs 17 to 31
Resetting CICs 32 to 46
Resetting CICs 48 to 63
Resetting CICs 64 to 77
Resetting CICs 79 to 93
perhaps it is OK as CICs 17 thru 46, 48 thru 77 are contiguous.
All these juggleries need to be done as when these 3 E1 trunks are connected to span 1, 2 and 3. Span 1 shows yellow/red. But the same 3 E1 trunks when moved to span 2,3 and 4 work OK. Any ideas ?
thanks,

Hi Bipin,
Are you saying
cicbeginswith=1
channel => 1-15
cicbeginswith=17
channel => 17-31
sigchan=16 --------------------> move this to line above channel => 1-15
cicbeginswith=32
channel => 32-46
cicbeginswith=48
channel => 48-62
cicbeginswith=63
channel => 63-77
cicbeginswith=79
channel => 79-93
?
thanks

Hi ,
I am having problem with the first span of the Digium TE420 card. "dahdi show status" was showing span 1 as red. The SS7 linkset was up when I used span 1, 2 and 3.
Now I have moved the three E1 trunks from ports 1, 2 and 3 to ports 2,3 and 4 respectively. And have changed the /etc/dahdi/system.conf as follows
span=2,1,0,ccs,hdb3 <---from 1,1,0,ccc,hdb3
bchan=1-15,17-31
mtp2=16
span=3,2,0,ccs,hdb3 <---from 2,2,0,ccs,hdb3
bchan=32-46,48-62
#mtp2=47
span=4,3,0,ccs,hdb3 <---from 3,3,0,ccs,hdb3
bchan=63-77,79-93
#mtp2=78
Keeping the chan_dahdi.conf the same
linkset=1
group=1
signalling=ss7
ss7type=itu
ss7_called_nai=dynamic
ss7_calling_nai=dynamic
pointcode=3007
adjpointcode=147
defaultdpc=147
context=from-outside_c7
networkindicator=national_spare
cicbeginswith=1
channel => 1-15
cicbeginswith=17
channel => 17-31
sigchan=16
cicbeginswith=32
channel => 32-46
cicbeginswith=48
channel => 48-62
cicbeginswith=63
channel => 63-77
cicbeginswith=79
channel => 79-93
But now the SS7 linkset 1 is down.

I am not sure why span 1 is shown as up where no E1 ckt is connected.
