Michael,

You are right, let me clarify some points:
Bearer means DS0 circuits that are used to carry voice.
Signaling link (in our realm) is another DS0 but it carries signaling.
When you set up an Asterisk SS7 interconnection you define which circuit is
used for bearer and which for signaling.
