Some of the English on this page is a bit hard to parse, but I think I got the
point of it. One area you didn't address was that as long as TCP connections
are being used between Ice-speaking components (and except for when Ice lets a
connection shut down because it is not being used), we could get proactive
notification from the TCP stack that an existing connection has become broken.
This is not for a specific proxy, of course, it would affect all proxies that
use that connection to reach a particular object adapter, but it could be
extremely useful information. Of course, this feature does not exist today,
but I believe it could greatly increase the robustness of health detection and
reduce the traffic load of performing such detection.
