I don't think we're even to the point of being able to talk about
conference bridges yet.  We need to build the *platform* first, and then
worry about which services or features get built into Hydra, and which
get delegated off to other software (such as Asterisk).  Ken's white
paper is "How do we best find out what media conversion services are
available for us to use and allocate their resources" at the platform
level, not "Let's build a better conference bridge" at the application
layer.

I agree that we should be mindful not to make design decision early on
that would preclude us from being able to do what you described with
wideband audio conferences.  I'm just saying we've got a *huge* amount
of work to do before we even worry about conference bridges.
