Thank you Eduardo.

Sounds like it is an easy way. I will try this in a system in Mexico with
Axtel. If anyone has had a previous experience with this carrier please
share.

Thanks a lot again.

Regards

I have a R2 system in my office (its WAY cheaper to get R2 than ISDN in this
country, Chile, due to a law requierement)

Anyway, 1.8 with R2 is incredibly easy. Just download and install in this
order this packages or newer versions of the same:

openr2-1.3.1.tar.gz
libpri-1.4.12.tar.gz
dahdi-linux-complete-current.tar.gz
asterisk-1.8-current.tar.gz

Add (modifying for you) this lines to dahdi_channels.conf

context=from-publica
;switchtype = euroisdn
;signalling = pri_cpe
group = 1
callgroup = 1
pickupgroup = 1
signalling = mfcr2
mfcr2_variant = itu
mfcr2_get_ani_first = no
mfcr2_max_ani = 20
mfcr2_max_dnis = 20
;mfcr2_advanced_protocol_file=/etc/asterisk/r2proto.conf
mfcr2_category = national_subscriber
mfcr2_call_files=yes
mfcr2_logdir = span1
mfcr2_logging = all
channel => 1-15,17-31

And use DAHDI/${EXTEN} as dial string.
