Bob,
It sounds like you didn't reload Asterisk. There should be an 'Apply Changes' button at the top right of the GUI (next to logout). Or you can go into the CLI and do "reload". This won't drop any calls or anything, it just has Asterisk reload (hence the command) all the changes in the conf files that have been recently made.

Subject: [asterisk-gui] Adding users
Hi,
I have an clean install of Asterisk 1.4 on SuSE 10.3. I've worked my way
down the menus on the left. It seems to be working until I setup my
first user. This is a sip user and does show up in users.conf but when
I run "sip show users" on the CLI, none are listed.
When I try to login, if fails and this shows up in the log:
[Jan 29 12:27:05] NOTICE[3752] chan_sip.c: Registration from 'Bob
Crandell <sip:6007 at asterisk>' failed for '172.16.1.151' - No matching
peer found
What did I miss?
Thanks
Bob
