[asterisk-gui] don't get 2.0 gui to run on asterisk 1.6.0.5

ok. so everything looks good except that make is telling you to look at cfgbasic.html instead of index.html. have you tried going to the following: 
http://debian:8088/asterisk/static/config/index.html 

If so, what does it tell you?

Here is how far I am. 

debian:/usr/src/2.0# make checkconfig

* Checking for manager.conf: OK 

* Checking if HTTP is enabled: OK 

* Checking if HTTP static support is enabled: OK 

* Checking if manager is enabled: OK 

* Checking if manager over HTTP is enabled: OK 

--- Everything looks good --- 

* GUI should be available at http://debian:8088/asterisk/static/config/cfgbasic.html 

* Note: If you have bindaddr=127.0.0.1 in /etc/asterisk/http.conf 

you will only be able to visit it from the local machine. 

Example: http://localhost:8088/asterisk/static/config/cfgbasic.html 

* The login and password should be an entry from /etc/asterisk/manager.conf 

which has 'config' permission in read and write. For example: 

[admin] 

secret = mysecret12453 

read = system,call,log,verbose,command,agent,config 

write = system,call,log,verbose,command,agent,config

Where are you at in your installation. As I'm pretty positive your issue is simply one of configuration.

Again, what's the output of: 

netstat -lntp | grep 8088 

And please don't start so many different threads for the same topic. 

In addition to that: what do you mean by "can't reach?" What do you see 
exactly? 

(This thread has been a model of non-systematic troubleshooting and how 
it can go badly wrong)
