I see. I am referring to the asterisknow install package which installs
Linux and all. It asks for a password during intallation but it is assigned
to the admin user so I don't know what the root password is. It must be
different I guess.

I don't think there is a GUI specific root password.
My root password is the one I have choosen on my Linux box. Nothing to do
with Asterisk or the Asterisk GUI.
Dominique.

What is the root password. It seems it sets the password for admin on
installation, but I can't figure out what root is..

Hi Maurizio.
I had the same problem as you.
I installed Asterisk 1.4 and run it as a *non* root user (after modifying
acces rights on a lot of directory). I used to run 1.2 like that. After
installing the GUI I was never able to pass the second step ("next" button
disabled).
I reinstalled Asterisk and run it as root and the GUI runs ok.
I hope this helps.
Dominique.

configuring GUI
Hi,
I have installed Asterisk 1.4 + Asterisk GUI.
All seems to work fine and the output of the make checkconfig says that
the varius component are OK.
The problem occurs when I try to configure the GUI from the setup.html. I
see that there are 7 steps but at the second (Date&Time Setting) the next
button appears to be disabled.
Someone can help me?
Thanks.
Maury
