Hi,

Good day!

Actually my goal is to integrate my existing telephony system to the LINUX PBX(Asterisk). I really don't have any idea what are the hardware requirements to be use in implementing the Asterisk that will fit to my ordinary phone. Is there any way that I can use my existing ordinary phone using the Asterisk? What particular hardware I need in my PC which has the LINUX PBX to be connected to my ordinary phones.

Sincerely,
Marlon

The questions you are asking are some of the questions we hope to answer through
the documentation project.

This forum, in fact, exists for the purpose of the members of the documentation
team to discuss issues relating to the creation of documentation. It is not the best
place to ask questions relating to Asterisk.

There are several sources of documentation which you will want to become familiar
with: The Asterisk Draft Handbook (http://www.digium.com/handbook-draft.pdf), the
VoIP-wiki pages (http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk), and our
own humble contribution at The Asterisk Documentation Project
(www.asteriskdocs.org).

Please help us by testing Volume One of the Documentation project
(http://www.asteriskdocs.org/modules/tinycontent/content/docbook/current_v1/docs-
pdf/vm1.pdf). That document's goal is to help you, the new user, get your first
Asterisk system running.

Asterisk is perhaps more like a programming language than a PBX. The simple fact
is that you are going to have to be willing to do a lot of reading and research to
unleash the power of the system.

Good luck!

Regards,

Jim.
