Good catch. How about:
Some applications will not run without synchronization timing (AKA clocking), which
is currently only implemented on Linux systems.

OK, I can appreciate that some folks are too easily offended, and in a newsgroup or
on IRC correcting grammar would be considered inappropriate, but in this case we
are all in pursuit of the same goal, and thus should be willing to both give and
accept a critical review of our work. I'd even argue that the finer points of grammar
is EXACTLY what we need! Editing is easily as important as Authoring, so when any
one of us contributes in that manner we should all be thankful for it. I most certainly
am.
