From what I read in the gcc manual, setting the option should produce more optimized code, so keeping it is probably best.
- Did you get a chance to try woody?
- I'd be willing give it a ship-it if you update the comment above; I'd rather have asterisk compile on newer debians/ubuntus than older ones.
