Using an ao2 container to hold the format interfaces will provide fast look up, but the problem is that every look up requires a lock on the ao2 container. This means while the interface will be found very fast, if multiple calls are up requiring the same interface to be found for EVERY single audio frame that comes in, this mutually exclusive interface look up is a huge bottleneck.
Something else will have to be done here.</pre>
