First of all, I would like to apologize if I'm making some question
that was already been answered on some place else.<br>
On such a case, can you please direct me to a good source of
information ?<br>
<br>
We intend to start using Asterisk on our backend and we will certainly
need to make some implementation in order to integrate it with our
legacy backend servers.<br>
The first and main issue we will face is to intercept call setup
(mostly for SIP calls, but for incoming/outgoing calls from PSTN too),
so we can accept the call considering autentication/autorization rules,
facilities availability, and other limitations.<br>

The better option is to customize Asterisk without change it's internal
code, creating a module or using another interface or API.<br>
Is that possible ?<br>

Which is the better choice when talking about call setup interception ?<br>
For example: 1- We will need to request autentication and validate it
on our legacy backend, so we need to intercept SIP/REGISTER; 2- On the
same way, any outgoing INVITE will need to be handled in order to
validate if the user have autorization to call another internal number,
or enough credit to establish outgoing calls.<br>

Can you guys, please, give me a lead on that ?<br>
