This is for one of the two remaining test scenarios that I hadn't yet gotten to work all the way through. I need to be able to test various ways of getting the channel out of STASIS to verify the status gets applied correctly. 

For now, I am dropping this issue, however, if it turns out I don't end up using the function after all, I will remove it.
