    Since making this change, have you attempted to load Asterisk without a stasis.conf file present in /etc/asterisk? The config framework returns ACO_PROCESS_ERROR if it cannot load the config file. If stasis_init() returns non-zero, Asterisk will not start.
    
    Have a look at main/udptl.c::__ast_udptl_reload() for a concise example of how to set default configuration in the case of an error from the config framework.
