That's what I thought as well, but in 1.8 internal_ao2_link auto-locks the container passed in to it. Normally, the macro for linking unlocks the container.
I used the internal_ao2_link as opposed to the macro as in versions past 1.8, this lets you pass the OBJ_NOLOCK flag directly to it, at which point the ao2_unlock will need to be removed.
