The Asterisk Development Team has announced the first release candidate of
Asterisk 1.8.12.0. This release candidate is available for immediate
download at http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/asterisk

The release of Asterisk 1.8.12.0-rc1 resolves several issues reported by the
community and would have not been possible without your participation.

The following is a sample of the issues resolved in this release candidate:

* --- Allow AMI action callback to be reentrant.
  (Closes issue ASTERISK-18479. Reported by Philippe Lindheimer)

* --- Ensure Asterisk sends a BYE when pending on the final response
      to a re-INVITE
  (Closes issue ASTERISK-19365. Reported by Thomas Arimont)

* --- Improve accuracy of identifying information sent in dialog-info
      SIP NOTIFY requests.
  (Closes issue ASTERISK-16735. Reported by Maciej Krajewski)

* --- Eliminate double close of file descriptor in manager.c
  (Closes issue ASTERISK-18453.)

* --- Enable macros in 1.8 to find the next highest "h" extension in a
      context, like in 1.4.
  (Closes issue ASTERISK-19336.)
