Yeah, it's used all of the time.  I know a lot of the development team
uses it regularly.  It is also requested on a regular basis on the
issue tracker to help debug problems.  I did some heavy testing of
Asterisk 1.8 under valgrind this past weekend, too.

I would say there is a lot of interest in it.
