I think I know why this is failing, although I can't explain why it works on my test machine but not in the testsuite. The test is supposed to test the case when T.38 negotiation fails and the fax gateway removes itself from the channel. This part appears to work, but after the T.38 negotiation fails, ast1 starts rejecting RTP traffic from ast2 with the following messages:

[Dec 15 00:51:20] DEBUG[12839] res_rtp_asterisk.c: Received RTP packet from 127.0.0.1:10192, dropping due to strict RTP protection. Expected it to be from 127.0.0.2:12748
[Dec 15 00:51:20] DEBUG[12838] res_rtp_asterisk.c: Received RTP packet from 127.0.0.1:16290, dropping due to strict RTP protection. Expected it to be from 127.0.0.2:13162

It appears that the sending ports may have changed somewhere. If this is a bug then it is related to our rtp code or our sip code and probably not any of the fax code.
