I understand, and even in 2.4.0 it's still that way. References were
removed from the README in
http://svn.digium.com/view/dahdi?view=rev&revision=9308 and removed from
the init script in
http://svn.digium.com/view/dahdi?view=rev&revision=9309. But those
versions aren't in any release yet.
