Tzafrir, in theory you could disable all the sound files.

On the original issue: I agree with you and as an avid Debian type
person I value the DFSG.  I would like to point out to the Asterisk
developers that there are still logo images (graphics) in the Asterisk
project that are both old and copyrighted / trademarked.  Same with
the GUI logos.  A menuselect option for trademarked images would be a
simple thing to satisfy many people.
