It is a 8.2.35 firmware on a Snom 320.s

I know that I could append "|*8" to the extension in Snoms function
key definition. INVITE with Replaces is another way to pickup a
call.

I am not shure, but I don't think the snom is doing something wrong
here and a patch for Asterisk is already available.
