[asterisk-dev] New Spandsp FAX Backend

Greetings,

A new FAX API for Asterisk has been developed.  This new API allows the
use of different FAX backends with the same frontend providing a uniform
user interface and reducing code duplication.  Currently there are two
compatible backends: the commercial Fax For Asterisk backend and the
open source Spandsp based backend.  The Spandsp backend is ready for
testing and can be found in the following SVN branch.  It supports
standard audio faxes and T.38 faxes.  Please check it out and report any
problems you find here.
