There are two backtraces on the issue. The original one has the pthread timing module loaded. My less complete one has no res_timing_pthread present, although, even when we eventually managed to interpet the dump with full debugging symbols, the kernel had only dumped the active thread, so one can only prove that by looking at the modules for which gdb loaded symbols, and by running module show on the same configuration.
My point is that there are two similar crashes, only one involving res_timing_pthread, which weakens the case for res_timing_pthread being the cause of one of them. There has to be a strong presumption that there is a common cause.
