was being include into 1.6.2.

Yes, it wasn't merged with 1.6.2 as it is a new feature (it changed the
layout of the CoreStatus response message).  It will be in 1.6.3 once it
is released.

In the meantime feel free to patch your local installation.  You can get
and apply the patch by executing this at the command line:

    $ cd /path/to/asterisk/source
    $ svn diff -c 196907 http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/trunk \
          | patch -p0
