Can the real-time text feature be what you are looking for?

You can use it both straight through Asterisk as a medium in a call together
with other media.

Or you can let applications create or receive text.

We also have a simple format driver that can take real-time text between a
channel and a file, that may suit you if that is what you mean.

I guess you should be a bit more specific and tell us what you want to do
