Yes, this is one of the limitations of using this backport in 1.4. Since there 
is no func_devstate in 1.4, you cannot create custom device states to use in 
such a scenario. My suggestion to you is that if the user has a way of changing 
which device they are logged in from, then when they make that change, you could 
have an automated way of updating your config (and re-loading app_queue.so if 
not using dynamic realtime queue members) immediately after.
