Modern machines use PCI Express, which is PtP. Saturating multiple
10Gbps ethernets is possible in Linux with multiqueue cards, so the
busses clearly have the bandwidth. The problem is packets per second,
not bytes per second.
The 80000pps from the earlier example are probably less than 200 bytes
each, so they only come to 128Mbps in total. Even PCI laughs at that.
