There was already a thread on this a few months ago. If a version of
asterisk is used by an order of magnitude more people that don't care
and don't report bugs (because they hit none, as it's a stable release)
than people that do, then there's really no point. And having to set one
small option is not like jumping through hoofs...

(anyway, optimization doesn't mangle the code that bad for most
cases :) )
