Thanks for the response Tony. Your suggestion is cleaner and probably
workable.

The only problem I potentially see is it assumes that the various
"priorities" or matches can always be group together in contexts and
then included in order of priority. There are probably situations where
that wouldn't work.

And again, I come back to my original point which is, sure, maybe there
is a way that you can work around these problems created by this new
priority scheme, but why do we have this new scheme in the first place?!

There is no practical application of it. Someone please cite an example
of when you would EVER want pattern matching to work that way.
