I wholly agree Martin Smith's response on this topic. I also understand the event handler concept, but events are already generated but apps that are based on DTMF inputs and so on. Wrappers can easily be built around these. No need to go through the list, Martin has done a great analysis.
 
Again, not being negative, just safe.
