The issue with that is if you want to transfer the call again (I used 
app_bridge to simulate mutli-lot call parking in a vPBX environment), it 
fails because you're trying to transfer the entire conference (or something 
to that effect).

By simply bridging the two calls together, you don't lose any functionality.
