[asterisk-dev] Discussion about configure and --prefix

Hello,

Some days ago peoples from Russian asterisk community tell me about
problem with configure srcript. The problem is:

from --help:
--localstatedir=DIR modifiable single-machine data [PREFIX/var]
but, if we run:
./configure --prefix=/home/asterisk
--localstatedir is equal to /var

This is small, and can be solved by direct setting --localstatedir, but
this is bug. I have found in bugtracker this bug (#8555) and I have the
same opinion with reporter that this must work as this describe in
--help. Let's discus it?
