It has been noted that it is a bad idea to email patches like this to
the mailing list. It really should go to bugs.digium.com. It needs to go
to the bug tracker so it doesn't get lost or forgotten about. It also
will be tracked with whether or not you have a disclaimer on file.

By sending this patch to the list, you run the risk of tainting the
developers if you do not file a disclaimer. This taint might keep them
from implementing the functionality and keeping it in the main tree.

Please do not think this is in any way meant to discourage your work or
your sharing of code. Please just follow the guidelines for sharing.

As far as your application, sounds like a good plan.
