Uhm.. I see the problem in current SVN (81061), this is what configure
says about epoll():

configure:15627: checking for working epoll support
configure:15654: gcc -o conftest -g -O2   conftest.c  >&5
configure:15660: $? = 0
configure:15666: result: yes
