Because neither you nor I fixed it! :-)

Seriously, it probably hasn't bitten anyone hard enough yet, but for my
application it was a show-stopper.

Bug report #10535 submitted: http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=10535,
with patches for 1.2, 1.4 and trunk.
