This is a pretty bold move on a supposedly stable branch.   
Unfortunately it is probably needed.  I just have a couple of comments.
- First of all, was astobj2 tested in any production environment or  
this will be the first time it is used for real stuff?
- I suggest you delay merging it in for a couple of days and give us  
a chance to hammer on it for while.  I would be glad to subject it to  
our stress tests.  However, our tests cover only a limited part of  
IAX2 functionality, so I would suggest that anybody who can help  
here, do so.   I know that Loic has a way of stress testing  
registrations, maybe other people have other test environments as well.
