[asterisk-dev] Howto extend the interface of Asterisk

Hi,

Howto extend the interface of Asterisk. let's say I want to get another
module interface similar to codec module interface, so that I can write some
modules similar to codec ontop of my new interface (of cause there will be
some difference to codec).
are there any interface for "interface extension"?

Any one got some tips?
