well vmauthenicate pretty much does this now, however it doesnt provide an interface to just directly dump the information into it.  its almost what it would need to be already, like i stated in first email.

On the subject of configuration space for users;
If it is being redesigned it would be good to abstract the auth system, 
providing an "auth" app and supporting API so that using the auth app 
one could then auth:
Voice Mail users
Agents
Expensive phone call usage
Phoning in to get my extension redirected to the external phone I am at.
etc.
All based on a single user database whether it be a users file, ldap, 
ODBC, system logins or whatever.
