a recent (3 hour ago) install of trunk on FreeBSD doesnt go the way it
should because of path names.

i'm checking this out, and grappling with the new build system (configure,
build_tools/*). exactly what should i be changing to have this installed
under /usr/local on freebsd ?

./configure --prefix=/usr/local didnt help, as defaults.h were still
generated with the Linux-specific directories.
