Thank you for that!

Did you really? I don't remember...

Oh, no, I don't think so. I'm very surprised nobody at Digium tell you
about the amount of complains about your behavior. I can agree that
sometimes you are right, but it happens that you are not. I welcome
your activity on the bugtracker and I know all of us need a bugmarshall
like you. But as Denis asked please always explain why you think like
this or do not think so. Let's see what happend on 6920 and 6925.
6920: [patch] detect pwlib in autoconf_and_menuselect
----------------------------------------------------------------------
kpfleming - 04-11-06 17:19
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As I mentioned in the other bug report, please attempt to work directly
with the maintainers of all 'developer' branches, not via the bug tracker.
This system is for dealing with issues in supported versions of Asterisk
only.

I reopen it since pwlib detection is still uncomplete/not functional...

I reclose it.

Sorry, we do not accept patches via the bug tracker for development
branches that are not intended for public use. If you wish to assist in
the development of a new feature that is living in a branch, please
contact one of its maintainers about working directly with them, otherwise
the bug marshals will have no idea what to do with your submissions (nobody
can comment or commit them except the maintainer(s) of that branch).

I reopen it to add a patch for trunk...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Reclosed.

I'd ask you to assign it to someone (e.g. russell) and work on something
other, hopefully more useful than closing bugs you are not supposed to
close. Thanks!

As we can see you were not right in both cases. Where can you see that I was
"told very specifically by kpfleming not to reopen this bug"? Aren't you aware
of the fact autoconf support in on the trunk branch now, are you? Moreover,
as I can suspect, not only Kevin or Russell were interested in looking at that,
but the current H323 support maintainer Jeremy. Did we give him a chance to do
so if the bug is closed? I explianed why I reopen both bugreports and you
deleted both with "won't fix" and "no change" resolution. If I reopen something
I'm sure I do the right thing and I explain why I think so.
The fact we have 320 open bugs does not give you the right to close or delete
results of the work done by others. If you are not interested in a patch does
not mean others are not too. We do not have a separate patch upload tool. Can
you imagine a developer posting a 150-200KB patch to a mailing list for review?
Mailing lists are for another purpose, they are for discussions.
Tilghman, you childish behavior is damaging the project. (c) anonymous Asterisk
developer. I'd ask you to be more reasonable and to make public your reasons in
acting this or that way. That's the only thing we'd like to ask you (me and
other developers I have private mail exchange with). And thanks for the work
you are doing.
In the hope not to raise flames but be considered reasonably,
faithfully yours,
Andrey S Pankov (casper)
