[asterisk-dev] option for timestamps in log messages

Don't care -- I only use syslog.

I can't imagine anybody not wanting to know "when" something happened. 
They can always use "cut" or "awk" if they want do discard the timestamp 
to find out "how many."

I also hate syslog's "repeated x times" nonsense. It makes grepping 
through xxx mb log files less useful, reliable and accurate.
