[asterisk-dev] How is asterisk code tested ?

Hello,
        I'm new to asterisk and currently learning about its internals.
I had a query - how is asterisk tested ? Are there any test suites 
available ?
especially for the SIP implementation ? Do we need to make use of any
specific software(s) for testing ?
