Correct. We have had conversations with MySQL AB about granting the
OpenSSL exception as we do (which would eliminate this problem and allow
the MySQL modules to move back to the main Asterisk codebase), but so
far they have not done so.

Probably not a great deal of work; many projects seem to be able to make
that available as an option. If this is going to happen, it needs to get
done soon, before the SIP over TLS codes makes it into tree, or the
transition will be much more work :-)
